Take selfcare into your hands!

April 28, 2022 by nancy . Leave a Comment

When was the last time you took a minute to appreciate your hands? They work hard to allow us to show love, work, eat, and find balance. Your hands deserve to be pampered. We have some ideas.

Permission Granted

When it comes to finding some extra time for selfcare, sometimes all it takes is giving yourself permission. We are sharing a luxurious ritual to encourage you to take a guilt-free moment of Zen. Feel free to make it work for you. Go for a full spa experience or create an express version. Your hands will be grateful either way!

Start At the Top

Begin your ritual by taking a relaxing bath or shower. Consider giving your hair a nourishing natural oil treatment. Simply wet down your hair and run some warm natural oil through the strands. Any natural oil will do. Coconut oil or Olive oil work wonders. Start about 3 inches from the scalp when hair is wet and just let it run all the way through your hair. A little bit of heat will activate but wrap up hair in a shower cap for deeper moisturizing penetration.

Post-shower is a great time to slather your entire body with a natural body cream to moisturize. If you want to draw moisture into your skin, try Cactus Crush or Serene Marine, made with a dose of hyaluronic acid. For the deepest hydration, go for Boho Coco with Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Vitamin E which combine to form a deeply penetrating, skin softening, dehydration-banishing cream.

Nailed It

You’ve been playing with natural oil and probably have some extra on your hands. Go ahead and use it to massage it into your nails and the area around your nails. This is one of the things we sometimes forget to do. In this ritual you don’t have to buy and use a cuticle oil!

Treat your delicate hands with the same care your face regularly enjoys. If you have it in your vanity, use a natural face scrub like Sia Botanics Revive Facial Scrub to gently exfoliate your hands. Rinse and finish with a generous dose of nourishing Rose Glow luxe hand cream applied as a massage.

Rose Glow

Rose Glow luxe hand cream is full of nourishing ingredients like botanical hyaluronic acid, rose water, and organic aloe juice that help smooth, soften, and protect the delicate skin of your hands from harsh environmental conditions.

The luscious natural cream also provides a luminous mineral veil which helps minimizes imperfections with light deflecting minerals. It absorbs easily without being greasy so you can immediately do all the things, but now is a time to be generous with the amount you use and patient with how it soaks in.

Going Deep

To encourage your luxe cream to penetrate deeper you can cover hands in a plastic wrap or simply cover with a warm towel for about 10 minutes. Take this time to take some luxurious yoga breaths, meditate, or make a mental list of gratitude.

When it’s time, pay attention to your cuticles. This extra love will help reduce annoying hang nails, dead skin, and any other issues that pop up. With consistency, you will get the benefit of strengthening while getting rid of ridges on your nails.

Enjoy your ritual and remember that hand care is just one part of your selfcare routine.

Everyday Is Like Earth Day

April 20, 2022 by nancy . Leave a Comment

Earth Day is upon us, but around here we like to make everyday Earth Day! This year Earth Day falls in between the full moon and the solar eclipse. It is a powerful time for implementing change, growth, and healing energy into the universe and planet in which we inhabit. Yes, please.

If you’re looking to cook up some magic this Earth Day or if you just want to find some new ways to honor our environment, here are some ideas:

Grow Your Garden with Wildflowers and Native Plants

Wildflowers and indigenous species are not only beautiful but also attract native and beneficial insects that improve both pest control and pollination. I’m talking about bigger flowers and bigger harvests!

As we move into our new place, we were gifted some columnar and prickly pear cactus cuttings and succulents that we have lovingly planted in hopes of baby roots in the next few weeks. You may already know, but we also celebrate prickly pear in our Cactus Crush natural body cream. Try adding a couple of your favorite native plants to your garden each year. You’ll be amazed at the difference.

Make a Connection

Have you heard of Earthing? This exercise invites us to go barefoot outside and connect with the earth. Firmly plant your bare feet in the ground. The weight of your body will organically give you the connection as your feet sink into the ground.

Imagine planting roots into the grass or sand. Feel free to close your eyes. Maybe even do a quick meditation to soak in the connectivity.

Consider Going Meat-Free

A vegetarian or vegan diet is much better for our environment than one which includes meat, believe it or not, and there are several reasons why this is so. Take a baby step by introducing “Meatless Mondays” into your home.

For extra credit, keep using vegan and all-natural skincare!

Use a Refillable Water Bottle

Just because you’re tossing your plastic water bottles into the recycling bin doesn’t mean they’re not hurting the environment. It takes a lot of energy to make the bottles. Plus, landfills are filled with millions of bottles.
Please consider buying a reusable bottle. And, shop for one that has a filter attached to it, so you’ll be getting fresh water every time.

Your gold star is on its way because our products use Organic Aloe Juice instead of water as the first ingredient. By keeping water and other fillers out of products, we lighten the load when shipping and allow customers to avoid buying extra packaging. They are so easy to travel with!

Eat Local

Buying your fruits and veggies local helps small businesses and the Earth. Fresh food always tastes the best! Seek out a local restaurant who values sourcing local and seasonal ingredients.

When possible, get your produce from a local farmer’s market. Food in the grocery store travels a long way. All that shipping causes pollution and extra carbon emission. The same goes for eating out.

Shop Local (and smarter)

Looking for a new outfit that will have you standing out from the crowd? You can do it in a way that’s environmentally friendly!

As with any kind of material good, buying something that’s already been used is great for the Earth because it doesn’t involve new resources. This means you’ll save some cash. An extra benefit of upcycling or thrifting is that you’ll be able to create a look that is totally unique to you.

Make EVERYDAY Earth Day!

Don’t stop with just one day of conscious living. We encourage you to try out each of these tips and see how many you can make stick. If we all pitch in to make some small changes, we can amplify our actions and make the next year something to really celebrate!

Deep Dive into Aloe Vera Juice

April 14, 2022 by nancy . Leave a Comment

How are you feeling about the movement focusing on skin health with ingredients like aloe vera juice? We are totally into it! Each of us wants our skin to look and feel smooth, but there is more to the equation. Keeping skin moisturized and protected from the environment’s everyday stressors is also key to optimal skin health.

Speaking of the elements, dry skin is especially common during extreme conditions. This means extremely cold and extremely hot seasons. These harsh conditions leave skin vulnerable to cracking and feeling uncomfortably tight. Staying hydrated is essential for keeping your skin looking fresh and feeling luscious.

Juicy Skincare Rituals

One key to achieving and maintaining a healthy glow is having a skincare ritual that works for your specific needs. To help skin health from the outside, our Natural Body Creams and Rose Glow Luxe Hand Cream provide nourishment to thirsty skin.

Each cream is made for a specific purpose. Powerful natural ingredients are combined with Organic Aloe Vera to target skin concerns like firming, tightening, crepe skin, and intense hydration.

We choose to use Organic Aloe Juice as the first ingredient instead of water because water doesn’t add any value to the hydrating creams. It feels wasteful to us to add any filler without a purpose.

When the ingredients are super concentrated, you get all the nutrient rich goodness without any fillers.

What is Aloe Vera?

Aloe vera is a succulent plant that’s been used for its healing properties for centuries. We use desert derived aloe sourced locally from Arizona’s fierce Sonoran Desert where the harsh environment produces the most concentrated juice.

The aloe vera plant is most famous for its healing abilities when applied directly to the skin. A lot of our Moms have slathered aloe vera gel on our sunburns earned by unprotected days in the sun as kids. It helps to soothe and protect skin after skin has been damaged.

This is probably a good place to remind you that sun exposure is the most damaging factor on skin aging. Please consider a mineral sunscreen to protect your skin!

Benefits of Aloe

Externally, healthy foods like aloe vera juice can have hugely positive benefits on your skin’s appearance. This can be a great compliment to your skincare routine for the ultimate glow.

Some studies have shown that drinking one glass of Aloe juice a day can have wonderful effects on your skin, keeping it healthy and clear. Aloe vera can also be eaten as a health food

The benefits of aloe vera juice are numerous, since it contains such a complex array of vitamins and antioxidants. Some of them have been found to repair and reduce skin damage from sun exposure and even the appearance of fine lines.

Aside from skin benefits, it also helps with digestion and encourages a healthy liver! Vegans and vegetarians in particular may want to drink it as a source of vitamin B12, which is rare to find in foods beyond animal products. This speaks to us as all of our skincare is completely vegan.

How Does Aloe Vera Benefit Your Skin?

Aloe contains collagen, which has been known to help repair your skin cells and protect healthy cells, giving your skin a radiant youthful glow. It has also been associated with decreasing active acne and reducing its appearance.

The folic acid, chromium, potassium and other compounds in collagen are beneficial to skin and overall good health. These nutrients allow the aloe vera juice to help prevent some visible signs of aging and helps to fight the development of future wrinkles and discourages them from deepening.

It’s also an excellent source of Vitamin C, which helps skin regenerate naturally! The vitamin breaks down free radicals that damage skin through sun exposure and air pollution that affects your skin every day.

Keep Your Skin Healthy

Hydrating aloe vera juice is just one way of delivering moisture to your skin. Topical face creams, face wash, and serums can also deliver a punch of moisture when you need it most.

Prioritizing your skin by investing in skincare that actually works with your skin type will keep your skin clear and smooth! Upgrade your skincare ritual and make eating nutrient dense healthy food into the mix to look and feel your best!
